Sources close to the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan confirmed that alongside Hasib Panjshiri, two of his comrades — Romel Panjshiri and Atiq Panjshiri — were also killed by the Taliban. Their bodies have not yet been handed over to their families.
Romel Panjshiri was a resident of Shatal district and Atiq Panjshiri was from the Manjhur village in Panjshir province. Romel had served as a National Security officer and Atiq as an army officer in the former government. In the same ambush, nine other members of the Resistance Front were also taken prisoner by the Taliban.
It is reported that the Taliban transferred the bodies of the killed and the prisoners to the Taliban intelligence directorate in Parwan. The National Resistance Front said it will share full details after a thorough investigation.
