The United States and Britain attacked Yemen in response to Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea

The United States of America and the United Kingdom targeted Houthi military bases in several Yemeni cities in the early hours of Friday, January 12; The attacks that are claimed to have caused serious damage to the weapons warehouses of this group. Holland, Australia, Canada and Bahrain have also helped those two countries in the fields of logistics and information. The reason for the attack on the Houthis has been said to be the disturbance caused by this group on the shipping route in the Red Sea. The attack on the territory of Yemen, which is the base of the Houthis, became very reactive, perhaps because the war in Gaza is ongoing and lest the flame of another war be rekindled. Russia called the attack on the Houthis a violation of international law and called for an urgent meeting of the United Nations Security Council. A demand that has remained unfulfilled until now. China has also invited the parties to exercise restraint and has expressed readiness to mediate in order to end tensions. Although Turkey is a member of the NATO organization, it is more angry than others and claims that Washington and London want to turn the Red Sea into a “sea of blood”. Saudi Arabia, which has been fighting against the Houthis for seven years, stated that it is monitoring the situation with concern. Contrary to expectations, the reaction of the Islamic Republic of Iran was not too sharp and this time it did not break diplomatic standards: “The arbitrary action is a clear violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Yemen and a violation of international laws and regulations.”
