Qari Mohammad Eisa, an Afghan political activist and staunch critic of the Taliban, was banned from leaving Iran by the Islamic Republic authorities after traveling to the country.
Sources say that Iranian police at Mashhad International Airport prevented Eisa from leaving the country.
The Islamic Republic has relation with the Taliban regime and has handed over the Afghan embassies and consulates in Iran to the Taliban.
This is while the Islamic Republic does not allow political opponents of the Taliban to hold conferences and this group is under pressure.
Some political activists believe that due to the Islamic Republic’s contact and interaction with the Taliban, Iran is not a safe country for critics and opponents of the group.
