The New York Police announced that one person was killed and five others were injured in a shooting at a subway station in the Bronx.
A police spokesperson said that the shooter has not been arrested yet and the condition of the five wounded is not known.
Local media reported that the condition of the five wounded is not life-threatening.
The level of crime on the New York subway lines has been called “rare” and the city’s transportation department said that 570 criminal assaults were reported in the subway in 2023.
