Strike of doctors and employees of Chahab Hospital in Takhar

Local sources in Takhar say that doctors and health workers in Chahab district of this province have gone on strike due to the reduction of their salaries by the Aga Khan Institute.

Sources say that the supply of health services in this district is entrusted to the financial support of UNICEF for the Aga Khan Institute and this office is obliged to pay the salaries of the employees and doctors of this hospital.

According to the sources, Aga Khan Institute has reduced the salaries of doctors and employees of Chahab Hospital by 70% without their agreement.

On the other hand, the head of the Aga Khan Institute in Takhar says that the head office of this institute in Kabul did not allow him to talk to the media.

The Department of Public Health of the Taliban in Takhar has not expressed an opinion on this matter either.
