Antonio Guterres, the Secretary General of the United Nations, criticized Russia’s non-participation in the meeting of Afghan civil society representatives in Doha and called it “regrettable”.
In a press conference in Doha, Guterres said that he is against Russia’s view of appointing representatives of the Afghan civil society in an “untransparent” manner.
He added: “I am against Russia, it is important to listen to the voice of the civil society.”
The Secretary General of the United Nations pledged that in the future, the third Doha meeting will be held focusing on Afghanistan.
However, Guterres did not provide details about the specific time of that meeting.
