March has been celebrated as “Afghan History and Culture Month in America” and the majority of city councils in the state of California have recognized this month as such.This initiative was made due to the efforts and assistance of American Afghan organizations, including (Afghans for a better tomorrow) and (The 5ive Pillars Organization).”Afghan-Americans are a cornerstone of the Sacramento community, especially those who have recently come to this city as refugees in the state of California,” said Sacramento City Councilman Patrick Kennedy. And I appreciate and thank them for their special help.Meanwhile, Alameda Township Board of Supervisors Lena Tom said the Alameda Township Board of Supervisors has designated March 2024 as Afghan American Heritage Month.He went on to say: Let’s celebrate the Afghan New Year and the ancient Nowruz by honoring the Afghan culture and the contributions of Afghan-Americans. Let’s embrace diversity and cherish its richness for our society.
