Local sources have reported the conflict over spring pastures in Pashtunkot district of Faryab province. Reports indicate that on Monday, 28th of Hoot, the residents of Goldareh Qeshlaq and Chaqmaq villages clashed over pastures.
This conflict has resulted in the burning of five houses and the injury of 11 people.
According to the sources, the majority of the residents of Goldara Qeshlaq village are nomadic families who are supported by the Pashtun Taliban. Taliban security officials in Faryab have confirmed this news and announced that the conflict has stopped with their intervention and a committee has been formed to investigate the issue.
This incident happened while last year in Daulat Abad district of Faryab province, the nomads had beaten and injured eight people by attacking the pastures of the Turkmens.
Similar conflicts over pastures have been periodically reported in different provinces of Afghanistan.
