Following Pakistan’s recent airstrikes on areas in Paktika and Khost provinces of Afghanistan, John Achakzai, the Minister of Information of Baluchistan province of Pakistan, announced that his country will respond decisively to any attack within its borders.

In a message on X social network, Achakzai emphasized that “the life of a Pakistani is more valuable to us than the whole of Afghanistan” and added: “We are not America, we are the Islamic Republic.

“These statements are made while Asim Munir, the Chief of Staff of the Pakistan Army, had previously made a similar claim. The Minister of Information of Pakistan’s Punjab state has also announced that his country has “avenged the blood of the dead and targeted terrorist hideouts along the border” in response to the attacks.

Meanwhile, the Taliban government in Afghanistan has claimed that Pakistan has targeted the homes of civilians in the mentioned provinces in these attacks, and pictures of children killed in these attacks have been published on social networks and media.

The Ministry of Defense of the Taliban group has also announced that in response to these attacks, it has targeted points along the Durand Line with heavy weapons. These attacks and counter-reactions have raised concerns about increasing tensions in the region.
