In a statement on the occasion of the Solar New Year, the Afghanistan Liberation Front stated that the cultural, religious and historical values of the Afghan people under the rule of the Taliban have faced “increasing limitation and denial”.
According to this front, the Taliban government has faced “deep crises” with its political and social operations such as suppressing civil protests, imprisoning innocent people, spreading poverty and collective mistrust.
This statement states that the Taliban has banned the auspicious celebration of Nowruz for the people whose ancestors are considered as its founders.
This action took place while before the Taliban rule, Nowruz was celebrated in the most magnificent way possible in Afghanistan, and it was only during the Taliban rule in the past that the celebration of Nowruz was officially prohibited, but all regimes and governments of Afghanistan have always celebrated this festival. It has been honored as one of the most important folk and cultural celebrations of the country.
