Statements of American officials after ISIS attacks in Taliban territory
The US representative for Afghanistan, Tom West, condemned the attacks that took place on Thursday in Kabul and Kandahar, saying that “innocent civilians” were killed in these attacks.
Yesterday morning, a suicide attack in front of the Kabul Bank representative office in Kandahar resulted in the death of at least 20 people and the wounding of more than 30 people.
On the other hand, the Chargé d’Affaires of the American Embassy in Afghanistan, Karen Decker, condemned this attack and sympathized with the victims of this incident and emphasized that Afghans should be able to spend the month of Ramadan peacefully and without fear.
In a new announcement, the ISIS Khorasan terrorist group announced that the explosive attack in front of the Kabul Bank branch in Kandahar city was the order and action of this group. According to the announcement published in the ISIS news agency called “Amaq”, an ISIS suicide bomber attacked Taliban militias and at least 21 people were killed in this attack.
The Taliban group, who have already carried out hundreds of suicide attacks, but Maulvi Abdul Kabir, the political deputy of the Taliban prime minister, condemned this attack “strongly” and called it against all Islamic and humanitarian principles.
