The United Nations wants to vote by this Friday to approve a resolution “ceasefire in Gaza” drawn up by the United States of America.

The European Union has previously invited Israel and Hamas to a “ceasefire” and this will increase the pressure on Israel to stop its five-month-long attacks in Gaza.

As a result of the war between Israel and Hamas, about 32,000 Palestinians have been killed, and UN experts have warned of a humanitarian crisis caused by famine and hunger as a result of Israel’s siege.

In the proposed text of the American resolution, “immediate cessation of hostilities and the implementation of a lasting ceasefire” are mentioned as a necessity to protect civilians and allow the delivery of humanitarian aid, and it asks Hamas to release the remaining Israeli prisoners.
