Antonio Guterres’ statement of helplessness in solving world crises
In a visit to Egypt, Antonio Guterres, the Secretary General of the United Nations, announced that the organization is not able to stop the war in Gaza.
In a press conference on Saturday, March 23, he asked the people who have the power to stop this war to work in this direction. Guterres emphasized the release of all Israeli hostages and the creation of an independent Palestinian state.
The Secretary General of the United Nations added: “One cannot watch so many people die and watch so much suffering without feeling deep sadness.
“He also warned that a possible Israeli ground attack on Rafah would be a “human disaster”. These comments came as Russia and China rejected the US draft resolution on Gaza.
According to Al Jazeera, the Security Council is going to review the resolution proposed by Russia and China tomorrow (Monday, March 25).Since the beginning of the Israeli army’s attack on Gaza, at least 32 thousand Palestinians have been killed and about 71 thousand others have been injured.
