Mullah Habibullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Taliban group, has once again emphasized the enforcement of “Islamic Sharia limits,” declaring that women will be stoned and lashed.

Taliban-controlled media outlets, including the national radio and television, disseminated a message attributed to the absent leader Akhundzada, announcing five measures on Monday.

In this message, Akhundzada refers to the West and states that they do not differentiate between “animals and women.”
He added, “We implement divine laws, while you consider it a violation of women’s rights. Tomorrow, we will publicly punish women; we will stone them.”

Akhundzada stated, “All these actions are contrary to your democracy; each of these actions will be met with resistance from you.”
He claimed that democracy did not take root in Afghanistan due to the presence of “scholars.”

These statements coincide with the increase in punishments against Afghan citizens in public courts due to various accusations.
It is worth mentioning that despite internal and external pressures to respect human rights and prevent extrajudicial punishments, the Taliban continue to resort to desert courts.
