Residents of Nurak region and relatives of a young girl in Ghor province have severely criticized the Taliban authorities, claiming that they forced her to marry a man for a dowry of 700,000 Afghanis.

Ahmed Saeedi, a university professor, and expert on political issues, expressed his criticism of the Taliban’s actions through a message, while Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson of the Taliban group, called this issue a family issue.

This event reminds some of them of a similar event that happened in Takhar.

The Taliban kidnapped the girl from her house and took her to a nearby village without a court order. Afghan sources report that some local Taliban commanders kidnapped the girl and demanded a dowry from her family.

These incidents happened while the Taliban had also kidnapped another girl in Takhar and forced her into marriage.
