Trump’s claim that American citizens are being held hostage by the Taliban

The spokesperson of the Taliban confirmed that two American citizens are in Afghan prisons and stated that the reason for this arrest is a violation of Afghan laws.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid stated this in an audio tape released by the Taliban-controlled National Radio and Television.

Without providing details about the violation of foreign citizens, he says that Afghanistan has its own laws and whoever comes to this country must accept the laws and implement them.

The spokesperson of the Taliban adds that the US citizens detained in Afghanistan have been discussed with the authorities of that country.

Recently, Donald Trump, the former president of the United States, said in his election campaign that the Biden administration left Americans behind by leaving Afghanistan, and a large number of citizens of that country are probably present as hostages in Afghanistan,

but the American officials said that only two people are in the custody of the Taliban. and other Americans who are present in Afghanistan are there of their own free will.
