Shekardokht Jafari, Afghanistan’s first female inventor and medical physicist, has been announced as the winner of the 2024 “Dynamics” prize in the UK.Mrs.

Shekardekht Jafari announced this news on her Facebook page and expressed her happiness at receiving this award as British Innovator of the Year.

According to the Platinum website, Shekardokht Jafari along with four other candidates also participated in this competition to receive the award.

Mrs. Jafari was nominated by the “Sari” University Technology Center as a candidate to receive the award.

Shekardokht Jafari, who is originally from Daikundi province of Afghanistan and currently lives in Britain, immigrated to Iran with her family at the age of six and completed her education in this country until her bachelor’s degree.

He returned to Afghanistan in 2004 and taught at Kabul University.

After receiving a scholarship from the International Atomic Energy Agency, he went to Britain in 2010 and continued his studies in the field of medical physics at Sari University.

Shekardokht Jafari has become famous as the first female medical physicist of Afghanistan by writing more than 40 scientific articles and two inventions (including dosimeter device and 3D measurement of radiation dose).She had already won the 2016 British Women in Innovation Award for presenting a new method of radiation therapy for cancer patients.

While on this side of the border in the ancestral home of Shakardakht Jafari, Afghan women and girls are not allowed to go to school and university, winning this award by an Afghan woman has once again put the deprivation of Afghan women from work and education in the headlines of the media.
