Turkey’s President Erdogan: No Desire for Conflict, Halts Trade with Israel

In a firm stance, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President of Turkey, has unequivocally stated that his nation does not seek hostility or conflict with any country in its region. He emphasized that Turkey harbors no desire to witness strife, bloodshed, or tears within its geographical boundaries.

During an address to members of the Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association of Turkey, Erdogan addressed the decision to halt trade with Israel, asserting, “We are not pursuing enmity or conflict with any nation in our region, nor do we wish to bear witness to clashes, bloodshed, and tears within our geographical domain.

“Furthermore, Erdogan underscored that the ramifications of this action would be carefully considered in consultation and coordination with Turkey’s business community, stating, “We will undertake this step in harmony and consultation with our commercial world.

“Shedding light on the underlying motivation, the Turkish President asserted, “Our sole objective here is to compel the Netanyahu government, which is operating unchecked with Western military and diplomatic support, to cease hostilities.

“Erdogan went on to highlight the potential for Turkey’s stance to serve as a model for other nations discontented with the current situation, emphasizing, “This move by Turkey will set an example for other countries dissatisfied with the prevailing circumstances.”
