India’s Parliamentary Election Results: Narendra Modi’s Renewed Victory and Continued Global Influence
Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, has won the country’s parliamentary elections for the third consecutive term. The coalition led by Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party secured 294 out of the total 543 seats in the parliament. Although this result fell short of Modi’s prediction of 400 seats, experts believe that winning three consecutive terms demonstrates the strength and stability of India’s democracy.
They argue that Modi’s global influence as an impactful leader will continue, and the lack of an absolute majority will not affect India’s foreign policy. Modi has promised that the country will enter a new era of major decisions and is expected to pursue ambitious projects such as the expansion of the IMEC (India-Middle East-Europe Corridor), a multi-modal connectivity and economic corridor seen as a rival to China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
