Farhan Akhtar, the renowned Bollywood director, announced that the cult film “Lakshya,” starring Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta, will be re-released in theaters on June 21 to commemorate its 20th anniversary.

Released in 2004, “Lakshya” tells the story of Karan Shergill, an aimless young man from a wealthy Delhi family who joins the Indian Army and becomes a war hero during the 1999 Kargil War. Despite featuring prominent stars like Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, Boman Irani, and Amitabh Bachchan, the film was considered a commercial failure upon its initial release, grossing only 230 million rupees at the domestic box office.

However, over time, “Lakshya” gained a cult following and was praised by critics and fans for its inspiring story about finding one’s identity. Now, after 20 years, Farhan Akhtar has decided to re-release the film in theaters, allowing a new generation of viewers to experience this cinematic masterpiece on the big screen.
