Viral Image Claims Mr. Bean Actor Rowan Atkinson is Sick and Dying

A widely circulated image on social media platforms has caused concern among fans of the beloved British comedy character Mr. Bean. The image, which is a composite of two separate photos, depicts a young Rowan Atkinson as Mr. Bean in 1990 on one side and elderly, sickly man with Mr. Bean’s face on the other side, labeled as being from 2024.

The post is often shared with a caption urging people to repost if they enjoyed Mr. Bean’s funny videos during their childhood.

However, after conducting a thorough investigation, it has been confirmed that the image is false and misleading. There have been no credible reports from any major media outlets about Rowan Atkinson being sick or dying. In fact, recent evidence shows that the actor is alive and well.

A video from the British Grand Prix, a Formula 1 race held in Britain last week, features Rowan Atkinson being interviewed by former race car driver and commentator Martin Brundle. In the video, Atkinson can be seen playfully mimicking Brundle, indicating that he is in good health and spirits.

Furthermore, a reverse image search revealed that the original photo of the elderly man in the hospital bed is not Rowan Atkinson at all. The Manchester Evening News published an article in 2020 featuring the same image, identifying the man as 75-year-old Barry Balderstone, who sadly passed away due to various health issues, including ulcerative colitis, Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, double incontinence, and chronic kidney disease.

The viral image is an edited version of the original photo of Barry Balderstone, with Rowan Atkinson’s face superimposed onto it. This manipulated image has been circulated with false stories claiming that the Mr. Bean actor is sick and dying.

In conclusion, the viral image and its accompanying claims about Rowan Atkinson’s health are entirely false.

The actor is alive and well, as evidenced by his recent public appearance at the British Grand Prix. It is important to fact-check and verify information before sharing it on social media to prevent the spread of misinformation.
