Taliban Claims to Have Killed Perpetrators of Hazara Massacre in Ghor
The Taliban group claims to have eliminated the perpetrators of the massacre of 14 Hazara civilians during a clash with ISIS in Ghor province. The confrontation occurred on Sunday in the outskirts of Firuzkoh, the capital of Ghor province. Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesman, alleged that in a special operation, the ISIS leader and another key member of the group were killed in the Marko area.
This claim comes in the wake of the tragic incident on September 13th, when 14 Hazara civilians were killed in Qarodal village on the border of Ghor and Daykundi provinces. ISIS had claimed responsibility for this attack.
Mujahid also reported the arrest of several ISIS members and claimed that a significant amount of weapons and ammunition was seized from them. He emphasized that this group was directly controlled by ISIS centers in Balochistan, Pakistan.
Despite these claims, no independent source has yet confirmed the veracity of the Taliban’s statements. This event once again draws attention to the issue of ethnic minority security in Afghanistan and the complex relationships between various groups in the region.
