Russia Ready for “Open Dialogue” with Trump’s America
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has signaled Moscow’s readiness for open dialogue with the United States following Donald Trump’s election victory. Speaking at a Thursday press conference, Lavrov emphasized that Russia has never rejected communication with anyone, stating that dialogue is always preferable to isolation.
Lavrov acknowledged that while US-Russia relations face “very deep” problems, Moscow would be prepared for discussions if Washington takes initiative without unilateral demands. He emphasized their willingness to discuss where both nations stand and how to move forward.
The Russian diplomat’s comments come as European allies express concerns over Trump’s victory. Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated Trump on his win in a Wednesday evening phone call.
