Scientists Reconstruct Face of 500-Year-Old Incan Sacrifice Victim
Scientists have achieved a remarkable breakthrough in reconstructing the face of a young girl who was likely sacrificed to Incan gods over 500 years ago. The revelation came through two separate 3D imaging processes conducted in both the United States and Arequipa, Peru.
The reconstruction revealed that the young woman, known as the “Lady of Ampato” or colloquially as “Juanita,” met her fate through a blow to the head. Experts believe this was part of a ritual sacrifice to the Incan gods.
Using advanced 3D scanning technology, researchers were able to recreate her facial features with remarkable detail, providing a window into the ancient Incan civilization and their sacrificial practices.
