The Taliban group has arrested and imprisoned Sayed Alam Hashemi, a poet from Panjshir province, for composing an epic poem. Bilal Sarwari, an Afghan journalist, shared this news on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

Sarwari criticized the Taliban’s action, referring to the promises made by Hanafi and Muttaqi who had encouraged people to return without fear. He called this action shameful, questioning how a group that claims to have defeated NATO could be afraid of words and poetry.

The Afghan journalist has called on the Taliban group to release the poet, allowing him to continue his role as “the nightingale of the homeland’s garden,” emphasizing the importance of artistic freedom.
