Afghan EVAC, an organization supporting Afghan refugees, has warned about potential new travel restrictions by the Trump administration. The organization has urged Afghans with valid US visas to travel immediately, as travel restrictions for Afghan citizens may be implemented as early as next week.
The organization, established in 2021, has facilitated the relocation of over 195,000 Afghans to the United States. Afghan EVAC, a coalition of 250 organizations across America, works with the government and Congress to facilitate the transfer of former US military collaborators.
Sean VanDiver, the organization’s president, believes that suspending the transfer of Afghan military collaborators not only endangers their lives but also damages America’s credibility. This comes after Trump’s September announcement suggesting the possible reinstatement of entry bans for citizens from specific regions.
