Donald Trump, the US President, reported a phone conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau regarding the 25% tariffs on Canadian products. Trump wrote on Truth Social that Ottawa’s efforts to combat drug trafficking have been insufficient.
The US President criticized Canada’s border policies, holding Trudeau responsible for the influx of illegal immigrants and drugs into America. He emphasized that many American deaths have resulted from fentanyl entering through Canadian and Mexican borders.
Trump also pointed out Trudeau’s lack of transparency regarding Canada’s election timing, suggesting that the Canadian Prime Minister is attempting to use this issue to maintain his power.
