Local sources in Jawzjan province have confirmed that Taliban forces killed a former commander loyal to Marshal Dostum.

The commander, identified as Yusuf, was shot dead on Wednesday in the Khwaja Du Koh district.

Witnesses state that the Taliban dragged Yusuf out of a wedding ceremony before executing him with a gunshot to the head.

The incident has sparked fresh fears regarding the safety of former security personnel.

Despite the Taliban’s declared general amnesty, reports of targeted killings and disappearances of former government affiliates continue to surface.

Human rights groups have repeatedly urged the group to halt these reprisals.
