Hamid Karzai, former President of Afghanistan, has reacted to Pakistan’s naming of ballistic missiles after Afghan historical figures. Karzai said that Pakistan recently tested a ballistic missile named “Abdali” and had previously named missiles “Ghaznavi” and “Ghuri,” while simultaneously mistreating Afghan residents in Pakistan.
The former president emphasized that throughout history, Afghanistan has nurtured great scientific, intellectual, and cultural personalities who are respected worldwide. He suggested that instead of using these names for military equipment, Pakistan should name its scientific and cultural centers in honor of these historical figures.
Karzai stated that the people of Afghanistan expect Pakistan to establish respectful and civilized relations based on good neighborliness. This reaction comes as Pakistan conducted these missile tests at a time when its relations with India have deteriorated following the Kashmir attack.
