Sources have revealed that Enayatullah Khwarazmi, the Taliban Defense Ministry spokesman, has been making marriage proposals to female journalists through personal phone calls.
According to the 8am Daily newspaper report on June 15, 2025, Khwarazmi has been presenting himself as “modern” and claiming that he behaves differently from other Taliban members.
This inappropriate behavior has caused many female journalists to avoid covering news related to the Taliban Defense Ministry to prevent such encounters.
Sources indicate that victims have refrained from disclosing these incidents due to fear, while media managers, concerned about Taliban reprisals, have not raised the issue with senior Taliban officials.
This situation unfolds as the Taliban group has systematically removed women and girls from all social spheres over recent years and imposed strict policies against them. Previous reports have also documented multiple marriages among Taliban officials, with some officials marrying twice within a single year.
