Over 5,000 kite enthusiasts from 26 countries have gathered on the Danish island of Fanø to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the island’s kite festival.
Fanø, located in the Wadden Sea region, is known as the kite flying island, and each year in June, its beach becomes filled with beautiful and colorful kites.
At this festival, participants can build their own kites, with even young children able to join in by decorating kites.
According to the organizers, to mark the 40th anniversary celebration, approximately 30 Indonesian kite builders and flyers have been invited to Fanø, and various cultural events including Indonesian dance and music will also be held.
The sky above Fanø’s windswept beaches has transformed into a moving canvas with more than 25,000 kites in flight — from shark shapes to soaring dragons.
This festival is one of the largest gatherings of kite enthusiasts in the world, attracting kite lovers from across the globe to this Danish island.
