The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan has issued a statement announcing that it has summoned Sardar Ahmad Shakib, the Taliban government's envoy in Islamabad, following a recent deadly attack. The country handed over a strongly worded protest letter regarding the incident in the Bannu region.

Pakistani officials claim that the attack on the police checkpoint in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was orchestrated from inside Afghanistan. The attack, which utilized a car bomb, resulted in the deaths of fifteen police officers and left four others severely injured, including a civilian.

Islamabad has expressed grave concerns over the use of Afghan soil by armed groups and demanded immediate action from the Taliban government. However, the Taliban government has consistently denied the presence of armed groups operating from Afghan territory.
