The Research and Advocacy Network for Women and Children has reported that since the Taliban takeover, more than 90% of women in Afghanistan have lost their jobs.

In a report titled “The Impact of Taliban Decrees on Women and Girls in Afghanistan,” the network shows that the Taliban’s restrictive orders have led to widespread violence and the exclusion of women from all public spheres of life.

According to the findings of this research, conducted from October 2024 to March 2025 in the provinces of Kabul, Herat, Badakhshan, Wardak, Ghazni, Nangarhar, Bamyan, Ghor, and Logar, 98.5% of Afghan citizens support girls’ right to education.

The research also found that 36% of women have experienced various forms of psychological, economic, physical, and sexual violence, while 65.4% of women have experienced violence in general.

The study further reveals that 95% of women are deprived of the right to travel without a male guardian and use public transportation.

In conclusion, the Research and Advocacy Network for Women and Children has called for increased international pressure on the Taliban and recognition of gender apartheid as a crime against humanity.
