As the iconic film Sholay turns 50, veteran actor Hema Malini revisited the grueling shoot of “Jab Tak Hai Jaan,” revealing she danced barefoot on blistering hot rocks in May. Her mother was deeply concerned and suggested protective soles, but director Ramesh Sippy insisted on bare feet for authenticity.
The veteran star admitted the pain was intense, stating, “Even stepping barefoot on the stones was very painful.”
After the cameras stopped, she would soak her feet in cold water to recover. Her dedication, backed by her Bharatanatyam training, created one of the most timeless sequences in Hindi cinema history.
