Pakistani Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar said Friday, August 28, at a press conference in Islamabad that the Taliban group has incorporated hundreds of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan supporters into its government.
He emphasized that Islamabad’s demand from the Taliban group in Afghanistan is action against Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan.
The Pakistani Foreign Minister said Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban group’s Foreign Minister, told him that 700 border posts have been established to prevent infiltration into Pakistan.
He says Islamabad has a clear and specific demand from Taliban group officials either remove TTP members from our borders or hand them over to us.
The Taliban group confirmed that three people were killed and seven others wounded in two drone attacks in Nangarhar and Khost. These attacks took place late Wednesday and the Taliban group blamed Pakistan for responsibility.
Following these attacks, the Taliban summoned Pakistan’s ambassador in Kabul and delivered a protest note.
