Maryam bint Ali Al-Misnad, Qatar’s Assistant Minister for International Cooperation Affairs, used the term “Islamic Republic of Afghanistan” during her visit to Kabul to deliver humanitarian aid to earthquake victims, while Taliban officials were present.
The Qatari female official arrived in Kabul with four military aircraft carrying food supplies, medical equipment, and tents.
During her media interview, she stated that on the orders of Qatar’s Emir, they established an air bridge to assist “our brothers in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan”.
This comes while the Taliban group refers to itself as the “Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.”
Although Qatar maintains extensive cooperation with the Taliban group, like many countries, it does not officially recognize their administration.
The Afghan embassy in Doha still flies the flag of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
