Amrullah Saleh, Afghanistan’s fugitive vice president, criticized the US-Taliban Doha Agreement on the anniversary of September 11 attacks.
He stated that the United States signed the agreement with a group that was complicit in terrorist crimes, referring to the Taliban’s connection to the original attacks.
Saleh claimed that since August 2021, America has provided $40-60 million weekly financial assistance to the Taliban group.
He argued that the Doha Agreement fundamentally changed the meaning and essence of counter-terrorism efforts, leaving those who stood with America after September 11 now imprisoned, tortured, and displaced.
The fugitive vice president emphasized that he fought against the Taliban before September 11, 2021, and continues his struggle for Afghanistan’s freedom after August 2021.
These statements reflect his ongoing criticism of American policies regarding Afghanistan and highlight the complex aftermath of the US withdrawal from the country.
