Sources in the Foreign Ministry under Taliban administration say a five-member Taliban delegation has traveled to Austria.
According to sources, the main purpose of this trip is dialogue with Austrian Foreign and Interior Ministry officials regarding Afghanistan’s political representations and consular services.
Sources add that this delegation seeks to explore solutions in official meetings for regulating Afghanistan’s political representation activities in Europe and how to provide consular services to Afghan citizens residing in Austria and other European countries.
This is the first official trip by a Foreign Ministry delegation from the Taliban group to Austria since their return to power in Afghanistan. Neither Austrian officials nor the Taliban have commented on this trip yet.
