Local sources in Nuristan report that several young men near Parun city, the provincial center, beat a Taliban member following a verbal altercation with a teenager.
The individual served in the police department under Taliban police command in Nuristan province.
Sources added that this Taliban member used inappropriate language toward the teenager and attempted to harass him, but the strong reaction from local youth resulted in him being targeted with punches, kicks, and stones.
The Taliban member had told the teenager “how beautiful you are, come walk with me” and made other inappropriate comments.
When the teenager responded back, the Taliban member tried to hit him. The teenager then called for help from his friends, and they all attacked the Taliban member with fists and stones.
Local Taliban authorities in Nuristan did not respond regarding this incident.
