A deadly collision occurred at 2 AM on the major Herat-Kandahar highway, in the area between Nimroz and Farah provinces, involving a trailer and a bus carrying 580 passengers.
According to preliminary reports, the bus driver and his colleague were killed, and numerous passengers were injured.
Two readers of Zawia News sent videos from the accident scene, showing that both vehicles caught fire after the collision.
No official information about casualties has been released so far.
This incident represents another deadly traffic accident on Afghanistan’s highways, raising serious concerns about traffic safety in the country and the need for improved road infrastructure.
