General Khoshal Saadat, former Deputy Interior Minister, stated regarding recent border clashes that the Taliban group has given a crushing response to Pakistan, the “eternal enemy of Afghans.
” He added that the Pakistani army, despite having air power, has been ineffective against the Taliban and has therefore resorted to bombing cities and civilian areas.
Mr. Saadat emphasized that Taliban forces are battle-hardened and highly mobile, which is why Pakistani airstrikes have been ineffective against them.
He also noted that Pakistani army airstrikes on military centers have been ineffective because the Taliban were not present in these centers.
This former official of Ashraf Ghani’s government stressed that Pakistan’s attacks have achieved no military gains and history has shown that no force has succeeded in direct ground warfare against Afghans.
He added that it is a source of pride that “Afghans have given a historic response to their eternal enemy and a country that does not recognize us.”
