Mohammad Reza Bahrami, Director General of South Asia at Iran’s Foreign Ministry, announced during a meeting with Abdul Kabir, Taliban’s Minister of Refugees, that the Islamic Republic will allocate 200,000 visas for Afghan workers.

This decision aims to improve the situation of Afghan migrants in Iran.

Bahrami emphasized that discussions between Tehran and the Taliban regarding undocumented migrants in Iran will continue.

He expressed satisfaction with expanding relations between both sides and announced that a high-level Iranian delegation will soon travel to Kabul for further cooperation.
Abdul Kabir requested Iranian diplomats to treat Afghan migrants with dignity and protect their rights.

He also called for halting the deportation process of Afghan migrants from Iran and described Iran’s issuance of work visas as an important step toward resolving migration challenges.
