A child is reported missing in the UK every two and a half minutes. Teenagers aged 12 to 17 account for 61 percent of all incidents recorded by police.
Around 70,000 children are reported missing each year, with many disappearing multiple times in nearly 210,000 separate episodes.
These statistics reveal that missing children represent a hidden crisis demanding urgent attention. Every day, approximately 900 people are reported missing in the UK, with almost 600 of them being children. On average, one missing child dies every week, highlighting the serious risks these vulnerable young people face when they disappear.
