Anand Prakash, Director for Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran at India’s Ministry of External Affairs, announced during a meeting with Taliban’s Minister of Industry and Commerce that cargo flights between Delhi-Kabul and Amritsar-Kabul routes will resume soon.
This decision was made during Nuruddin Azizi’s five-day visit to India in November 2024.
Prakash confirmed that the air corridor between the two countries will be reactivated and expressed happiness about the resumption of this route.
This agreement comes amid recent tensions between Kabul and Islamabad that have blocked transit routes for commercial goods through Pakistan.
India’s External Affairs Minister also discussed with Azizi ways to strengthen trade, connectivity and people-to-people relations between the two countries, reaching agreements on reactivating joint working groups and establishing joint chambers of commerce.
