The Taliban group has begun the process of reclaiming lands and residential blocks that were given to soldiers by the republican government from the families of these military personnel.
Local Taliban administration does not accept any legal documents from former and retired military personnel regarding these lands and houses.
Images from the third district of Jalalabad city show that retired soldiers have been ordered to evacuate their homes immediately.
One resident said: “They take them from us and give them back to their own soldiers, they have started distributing lands and blocks to their soldiers throughout Afghanistan.”
These actions are taking place while the affected families still possess the documents of their homes, but the Taliban group does not accept them.
This process of evictions is happening simultaneously with the beginning of winter season in Afghanistan.
