Fox News has reported that Rahmanullah Lakanwal, the attacker on the US National Guard near the White House, previously collaborated with US government agencies in Afghanistan, including the CIA.
The 29-year-old Afghan reportedly served as a member of a US-allied force with the CIA in Kandahar during America’s presence in Afghanistan.
According to the report, after the chaotic US withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021, Lakanwal entered the United States under the “Operation Allies Welcome” program, managed by the Biden administration.
He arrived in the US just one month after the troop withdrawal.
This revelation has sparked widespread reactions on social media and among officials, further impacting the scrutiny of Afghan immigration processes.
