India announced it has delivered 73 tons of essential medicines, vaccines, and supplements to address urgent health needs in Kabul. A spokesperson from India’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized this aid supports health efforts in Afghanistan and signals Delhi’s ongoing commitment to the Afghan people.
Last week, India’s Foreign Minister met with Nooruddin Azizi, Afghanistan’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, in Delhi to discuss expanding trade and people-to-people ties. Recently, India also sent food shipments to families affected by earthquakes in Balkh, Samangan, and Baghlan provinces.
Meanwhile, tensions between the Taliban group and Pakistan have halted medicine imports from Pakistan. The Taliban stated they do not need to import medicines from Pakistan and are seeking other sources to supply Afghanistan’s medical needs.
