The Pakistan Army has reported the death of seven Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants following a fierce clash in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The confrontation took place on Monday in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan.
Military officials confirmed that security forces also sustained casualties during the operation, though specific numbers were not disclosed.
Both Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari have commended the forces for the operation.
Border regions in Pakistan have experienced a significant rise in violence and instability since the Taliban returned to power in neighboring Afghanistan.
The TTP has not yet issued a statement regarding this latest incident.
