Iranian official Mohammad Reza Bahrami met with Amir Khan Muttaqi in Kabul to discuss strengthening bilateral ties between the two neighbors.

During this significant meeting, Bahrami extended an official invitation to the Taliban’s foreign minister to visit Tehran soon .

Muttaqi described the current relations as positive and emphasized that Afghanistan has moved past its difficult times.

He stated that the country should no longer be viewed as a problem, but rather as an active partner ready for regional cooperation .
This diplomatic move follows the Taliban’s notable absence from a recent regional conference in Tehran.

Experts suggest that complex factors, including border tensions and sensitive regional alliances, had previously influenced their decision to skip the event .
