The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) has claimed responsibility for a targeted attack on a Taliban checkpoint in Kunduz province.

The incident reportedly took place on Thursday evening, December 18, near the Kabul Port area opposite a local gas station.

According to the statement released by the front, the assault resulted in the death of two Taliban members and left one other injured.

While Taliban officials have maintained their usual silence regarding such security incidents, the attack marks a continuation of rising hostilities in the northern region.

This strike follows a series of intensified operations by the AFF, including recent attacks on Taliban morality police offices in Faryab.

International media outlets have increasingly recognized the group as a leading resistance force operating against the Taliban across Afghanistan.
